Saul (OT17)

Take time to think about what you are learning about
God, His Story, and your life through this week's lesson.

Capturing the Truth

Family Chat

Take a few moments, as a family, and review the lesson. Saul was charged with a big responsibility — to be the first (human) king of Israel. He was also given specific instructions—trust God and do as He commands in all things and things will go well. He started out well—seeking God’s counsel before acting, but soon pride went to his head and he began leading from his own will, even to the point of directly disobeying God’s command.
Take time to pray together, asking for forgiveness for the times you don’t trust Him as well as for help in trusting Him more.

Daily Spiritual Rhythms Challenge

Write this verse out and carry it with you this week. Seek to memorize it so you recall it when you are anxious, overwhelmed, or confused by life's events. We can experience peace even when things are unsettling, unclear, or difficult.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
