Food for the "Haven"

Partnering with Student Support Network
to provide food to those in need in our community

"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet,
you also should wash one another's feet.

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
John 13:14-15

Student Support Network provides food and other items to students in need in area public schools.
We will be directly supporting the “Haven,” which is a room at Loch Raven High School
where students in need can go for pantry and personal items free of charge.

Nearly half of the students (48%) at Loch Raven High School
live in poverty and qualify to get items from the Haven.

Due to COVID and school closures last year, their pantry is basically bare.

Consider giving generously to help those in need by donating the following pantry items.
Peanut butter & Jelly
Pasta & Sauce
Pancake Mix
Canned Tuna

On Retreat Day in mid-September, the Sophomore class at Concordia Prep
will also be packing individual snack packs for as many students as possible.

Please consider giving any of the following healthy items (per request):
Granola Bars, Breakfast Flats/Biscuits, Oatmeal Bars, Clif Z Bars,
Cereal Bars, Nutri-Grain Bars, Kind Bars, Cereal Pouches,
Baked or Reduced Fat Chips/Snacks/Popcorn, Pretzels,

Popchips, Chex Mix, Fruit Cup in Water/Juice, Dried Fruit,
Apple Sauce Cups/Pouches, Nuts, Teddy Grahams, Wheat Thins.
(All individually wrapped, single serve size please.)

Monetary donations will be used to purchase items to make snack packs.
(You can give online below)

Concordia Prep students and families who have questions should contact Mrs. Weldon.
"Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in,

or needing clothes and clothe you?
I tell you the truth,
whatever you did
for one of the least of these brothers of mine,
you did for me."
Matthew 26:37-38, 40
Students of Concordia Prep School can bring food items to school (Room 212) and
others can bring items to NewThing Worship Services in September.
Money to purchase supplies can be donated below
